History of Ed Hardy
Cailfornia native, Don Ed Hardy, is known as a legendary tattoo artist recognized for his sense of experimentation and his ability to meld Japanese, Cholo, surf, tattoo and hotrod iconography. "The godfather of tattoo" has been fascinated with tattooing since childhood and became a master tattoo artist while working as a painter and artist. In 2000, Hardy created a 50 foot scroll of 2000 dragons which has been shown at galleries across the West Coast.
Christian Audigier has had one of the most successful and quick rises to stardom in the fashion industry. After beginning at MacKeen Jeans, Audigier contributed to brands such as Diesel, Bisou Bisou and Levi's. His style of design was distinctive enough to earn him the moniker "King of Jeans." He furthered his place as trendsetter in the fashion world while working with Von Dutch, specifically by creating the now famous "trucker hat."
In 2004, Christian left Von Dutch to launch the Ed Hardy brand, where he was given exclusive rights to the artwork of Don Ed Hardy.
